The BMBG/Janie Wulkan Memorial Scholarship may be awarded to an applicant committed to a career in public transportation. Applicants should demonstrate a continued interest in a career in the public transportation industry, high academic achievement, and need for financial assistance. Applicants must be college students or those seeking advanced degrees. All returning applicants must be sponsored by an APTA member organization or APTA member assignee. First time applicants are not required to obtain a sponsor. The AWG Professional Excellence Awards will go to women who, throughout their careers, have made distinguished contributions in each of the three following professional areas: government or regulatory; private industry or consulting; and academia or research. Nominees need not be members of AWG and those without memberships will receive a one-year professional membership with their award. A one to two page letter summarizing the nominee's most important accomplishments in professional areas that demonstrates multidisciplinary geologic accomplishments within their realm of expertise must be submitted. The WIA Foundation is pleased to provide scholarships to those who identify as women, who are interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering, math or science. To be eligible for the WIA Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must be interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace field and working towards a bachelor's degree in engineering, math or science in an accredited college or university in the United States or its territories. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from a professor, or a supervisor of summer or Co-op work experience, or a supervisor of research work. The EOK Scholarship Program is for deserving young women who have demonstrated community service, leadership, and academic achievement. Previous applicants may apply but must submit a new application. Prior recipients are not eligible. Applicants must submit verification of enrollment in an accredited US college or university as a degree candidate for undergraduate or graduate study (i.e. letter from advisor, letter of matriculation, tuition bill) and recommendation forms from two academic, professional, or personal references. When AAUW International Fellows pursue education in the United States, their commitment to empowering women and girls in their home countries doesn't end and neither does their need for financial support. To create lasting support around the globe, AAUW awards grants to International Fellowship alumnae who have returned home after successfully completing the course of study for which they received funding. These grants allow alumnae to build on their academic work and implement community-based projects that will improve the lives of women and girls. The applicant must have successfully completed an AAUW International Fellowship, all reporting requirements for the fellowship, and the academic program for which they received the fellowship. The applicant must have citizenship in a country other than the United States. Women holding dual citizenship in the U.S. and another country or who are permanent residents of the U.S., or who pursue either of those during the grant year are not eligible. The project must be implemented in the applicant's home country and have a direct, positive impact on women and girls. The applicant must be the primary director of the project and be responsible for the project, with control over programmatic, administrative, fiscal and editorial decisions. Two recommendations are required. They must be from an organization or individual in the applicant's community who can attest to the applicant's qualifications and ability to carry out the project as proposed and from a colleague who is well acquainted with the applicant's current academic and/or professional work. The University of Massachusetts Amherst Class of 1942 Scholarship is available to non-traditional, full or part-time female students who did not attend college or are returning to college after an extended absence in preparation for joining the workforce. As a woman-owned corporation operating in a largely male field, we understand the remarkable impact women can have. We want to pave the way for other women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world, which is why Landmark offers a scholarship designed to increase the number of women studying and influencing the future of science, including technology, engineering and math. To apply for the scholarship, applicants must be a student currently enrolled at a college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in the United States. Applicants must be studying or planning to study the fields of science (excluding social sciences i.e. economics), engineering, mathematics, or technology. Applicants do not need to be a United States citizen to apply. This scholarship is open to persons who identify as female. If the applicant or the applicant's parent or legal guardian is employed by Landmark, Inc. at the time of award, the student is not eligible for the scholarship. One award of $1,000 will be granted to the top essay submitted, and up to nine other students may receive awards for their submissions. Nancy Carroll started playing golf at the age of ten in Webster Grove, Missouri. She quickly fell in love with the game and by the age of 14 she was playing competitively on the national level. Promoting junior girls golf was important to Nancy and she strived to provide for future generations of the game. The Nancy Carroll Scholarship will be awarded to students graduating from a Florida high school. Applicants must have an interest or an association with the game of golf. They must be high school seniors in good standing enrolled in a Florida high school or a home education program. Applicants must enroll in, and complete, a minimum of nine credit hours per fall and spring semesters in college. Recipients will be selected based on their academic record; character and sportsmanship; SAT or ACT scores; involvement in golf, high school and junior golf tours and programs; financial need; essay; letters of recommendation; and community activities or volunteer involvement. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation. For renewal, students must submit a request each year to have their scholarship extended to the next year.
