Eligibility
$1,500 Annual Video Contest Scholarship, with an application deadline in October, offers 2 awards of $1000 each.Description
Each year IvyPanda awards creative and talented movie-making students with scholarships. Scholarships are given to two winners: the winner receives a $1,000 scholarship; the runner-up prize is $500. Video submissions from current high school, college, or university students from any country will be accepted. The winners will be required to send IvyPanda proof of their academic status or enrollment. Applicants must record an original video on one of the following topics: (1) From dependence to awareness: my journey toward ethical use of AI tools beyond ChatGPT. (2) The hidden costs of 'free' chatbots: privacy, pressure, and plagiarism. (3) Overreliance on ChatGPT: can it undermine students' critical thinking? The video must contain only copyright-free content; be in English only; and last between 1 - 1:30 minutes. The video must also be submitted in one of the following formats: MOV, MPEG4, MP4, or AVI. It must have a widescreen aspect ratio and feature the official IvyPanda logo, clearly visible in one corner, throughout its entire duration. Applicants must upload their video either on Dropbox or Google Drive. No video should be set to public access before the Contest. Applicants must also subscribe to IvyPanda's first and second YouTube channels; and like and share the Contest video-description on X, Facebook or Instagram. Applicants must send an email to IvyPanda with "IvyPanda Video Contest Submission" as the subject line and the following content inside (in this particular order): the direct link to the uploaded video; the screenshots of the subscriptions to IvyPanda's YouTube channels; the screenshot of the Contest video-description shared on social media; a creative, catchy title that reflects the applicant's ideas; and the answer to the question posted on the scholarship's website. The video will go through 2 evaluations and voting before the winners are announced. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
