Description

The AIASWW Education Scholarship is a joint program of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Southwest Washington Chapter and AIA National to aid students who plan to pursue architecture as a career and who have been accepted to a university with an accredited architectural degree program. The selection will be based upon the student's potential as illustrated by the submittal record of previous academic and non-academic success and a narrative describing why they feel a career in architecture is right for them. Scholarships are offered to graduating high school seniors attending a high school in Pierce, Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Skamania, Wahkiakum, Clark, Cowlitz, or Grays Harbor Counties in Washington State. Scholarships will also be considered for students who graduated from a high school from the aforementioned counties and who have been accepted as a first-year student into a university with an accredited architectural degree program. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Applicants must also submit their portfolio of artwork, photographs, or other work that helps to illustrate their talent. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington for more information.
