The Association of Jewish Libraries is pleased to offer an academic scholarship to a student enrolled in or accepted into a graduate school of library and information science. Prospective candidates should have knowledge of and interest in Jewish studies, and demonstrate the potential, ability, and intention of pursuing a career in Judaica librarianship. AJL membership is not required for eligibility. Applicants must provide proof of acceptance for the next academic year or proof of current enrollment in one of the following programs leading to a master's-level degree: (A) An ALA-accredited library school in the United States or Canada; (B) An accredited library school in either the United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand; (C) Graduate library school programs in Israel. Applicants must submit documentation of: (1) Jewish studies completed at an academic and/or less formal level, and/or; (2) Experience working in Judaica libraries. Transcripts and/or letters on official letterhead will be accepted as documentation. (3) An academic or professional letter of recommendation attesting to the applicant's academic interest in Judaica librarianship and/or their professional experience working in the (or related) field(s).
