Description

Alex O. Santillanes saved the lives of many by working tirelessly through gang outreach, as a student guidance counselor, as a community organizer for Yakima County Substance Abuse Coalition, and as a student retention specialist at A.C. Davis High School. The Alex O. Santillanes Scholarship is open to graduating seniors of a high school in the Yakima Valley (A.C. Davis, East Valley, Eisenhower, West Valley, or Yakima Valley Tech). Special consideration is given to students affected by a history of cultural, social and economic inequities, particularly if the applicant has ever resided in a single parent family and/or the applicant's parents did not complete high school. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Community Foundation of North Central Washington for more information.
