Amelia Kemp Scholarship, with an application deadline in April, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.

Description

The Amelia Kemp Scholarship provides assistance to ELCA women of color in undergraduate, graduate, professional, or vocational courses of study. Applicants must have experienced an interruption in their education of two or more years since completion of high school or college. The recipient is eligible to reapply and receive assistance for a maximum of two years. Applicants must submit a Pastor's Reference Form. If the pastor is a relative of the applicant, they must instead request a reference from the chairperson or vice-chairperson of the congregation. An Academic Reference Form is also required. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member who has taught the applicant within the last three years must be submitted; disregard if the applicant has been out of school more than three years. Applicants must also submit a Personal Reference Form. A letter from someone who has knowledge of the applicant's potential must be submitted.
