Description

The Bill Clapper Memorial Music Scholarship was established in August 2000 with a major gift from Mary J. Clapper and additional gifts made by friends and associates after the death of her husband, Bill Clapper, who had been a music teacher in the Monterey schools. Applicants should be a student furthering his or her education in music at the college level. They must be a graduating senior from Monterey High School, a member of the HS Band, Jazz Band, or Orchestra for at least two years, including their senior year, and exceptionally talented on woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instruments. Applicants must be recommended by the MHS School Band Director. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Community Foundation for Monterey County for more information.
