Description

The Bobbie Flaherty Service to NACADA Award recognizes a NACADA member that demonstrates outstanding service to and a history of involvement and membership in the association. This award is offered to an individual who has made significant contributions to NACADA, the profession of academic advising, leadership in the field of advising as well as related professional areas, and a commitment to the importance of academic advising at a regional, national, or global level. Nominees or applicants must have a history of involvement and membership in the association. It is ideal if the nominee/applicant has the support of their institution in attending the Annual Conference as the recipient will be recognized and presented with their award during the Annual Conference Awards Ceremony. A Nomination or Application Letter must be submitted. This letter should provide evidence that the candidate has made significant contributions to NACADA, the profession of academic advising, leadership in the field of advising as well as related professional areas, and a commitment to the importance of academic advising at a regional, national, or global level. Three letters of support and/or recommendation must also be submitted. These letters may come from institution officials, colleagues, employees, supervisors, or students, or anyone who might enhance the selection committee's understanding of the nominee. Any additional materials that support the candidate's nomination may also be submitted. Please visit the award's website or contact NACADA for more information.
