Description

The Doris Hardinger Roome Scholarship Fund was established in the memory of Doris Hardinger Roome, a longtime resident of Kailua. This scholarship was made to benefit undergraduate and graduate students who participate in community service and show leadership abilities. The donor requires applicants to submit one letter of recommendation from a non-related teacher or community services member speaking to the student's community service and/or leadership abilities. Preferences will be given to applicants with strong community service experience and to recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing.
