Doris Hardinger Roome Scholarship Fund, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards that vary in amount. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Doris Hardinger Roome Scholarship Fund was established in the memory of Doris Hardinger Roome, a longtime resident of Kailua. This scholarship was made to benefit undergraduate and graduate students who participate in community service and show leadership abilities. One letter of recommendation from a non-related teacher or community services member speaking to the student's community service and/or leadership abilities must be submitted. Preference will be given to students with strong community service experience. Preference will also be given to recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing.
