Description

The Elizabeth Gardner Norweb Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship will be awarded to encourage studies and careers in the environmental field with the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience beyond the regular course of study. This scholarship is open to college undergraduates for summer study. Eligibility is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. This scholarship provides financial assistance to a student annually for field work, research, or classroom work in the environmental field. Two letters of recommendation are required to be submitted to be eligible for a GCA scholarship. One must be from the applicant's advisor on their academic progress and achievements, personal qualities, and qualifications for the summer program or project the applicant has developed or selected. The second letter should be from a professor familiar with the applicant's work and interests including information on the program or project the applicant has developed or selected. If the applicant has applied to a program but is not yet enrolled, they must provide information on the program, as well as, confirmation of their acceptance. Applications may be submitted electronically or sent by mail to be received at GCA Headquarters in New York City preceding the summer of study. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Garden Club of America for more information.
