Ernst Walter Nennemann Memorial Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers one award in the amount of $1000. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Ernst Walter Nennemann Memorial Scholarship was established by the late Hugo and Thelma Aspegren of Lincoln to remember Thelma's father, Ernst Walter Nennemann. Hugo said, "It is hoped that by establishing this scholarship, we will in some small way leave our mark on the pages of history of the Community School District of Sidney, Iowa, and on the students who are yet to follow in our footsteps." Applicants must be a current graduating senior or a former graduate of the high school in the Community School District of Sidney, Fremont County, Iowa. Former graduates must apply within three years of their high school graduation date. First preference for scholarship grants will be given to current graduating seniors, all things being equal. It is preferred that the applicant be a male student. The applicant must demonstrate strong scholastic application and achievement in high school studies. The applicant must be pursuing a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree from a fully accredited college or university. Financial need will be considered. Any previous recipients of the scholarship may apply for an additional one-year scholarship, however they must continue to meet the criteria. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Lincoln Community Foundation for more information.
