Description

The Esther Kanagawa Memorial Art Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by Donald Kanagawa to benefit Hawaii residents pursuing studies in the field of fine arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics or photography). Preference is given to incoming freshmen and students who have participated in local and national art competitions or other outstanding accomplishments in the field of art. The donor requires the applicants to be a high school senior entering as a freshman. The donor also requires the applicants to to major in Fine Arts (drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, or photography) Preference (in order of priority) will be given to students who have participated in local and national art competitions, or students with other outstanding accomplishments in the field of art; entering freshman; and recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing.
