Description

The award holder of the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in Humanities and Social Sciences at the American Studies Center, University of Warsaw will teach one graduate course per semester on a topic of their choosing. The course, a research proseminar, will consist of 135-minute sessions, once a week, for 15 weeks. The Distinguished Scholar will also be expected to give public lectures, advise graduate students, and generally engage in the academic life of the ASC. Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) is required. Applicants may be Senior Academics. The Distinguished Scholar can be awarded only to preeminent American Studies scholars with an outstanding publication record in their fields. Candidates are expected to have extensive teaching experience. It is expected that candidates will hold a Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences and have at least 10 years of teaching experience. Applications are sought from those with interest in American Studies with related disciplines (sociology, economics, politics, history, culture, art history, and literature), and interdisciplinarity; also Western Hemispheric studies. An invitation letter should not be sought. There is no language requirement, English is sufficient. The application also requires two recommendations.
