Gabby Matthes Memorial Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers 2 awards of $1400 each. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Gabby Matthes Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 2011. Two scholarships will be awarded each year: one to a Freeman High School senior or graduate and one to a senior or graduate of a high school in specified Nebraska counties. Applicants must be a current graduating senior or former graduate of Freeman High School, or be a graduating senior or former graduate of any high school in Gage, Lancaster, Jefferson, Saline, Johnson or Pawnee Counties in Nebraska (Lincoln Public Schools are excluded). The applicant must demonstrate involvement in school or community activities other than, or in addition to, athletics. Activities may include art, music, drama or clubs. Financial need and academic achievement will be used as tie-breaker criteria only. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Lincoln Community Foundation for more information.
