Description

The George S. Ishiyama Unicold Scholarship was established by the family of George Ishiyama to memorialize his commitment to higher education. George Ishiyama had a deep involvement in the business community in Hawaii which included his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Unicold Corporation and as a member of the Board of Directors of Alexander and Baldwin. In his honor, this scholarship benefits the dependent children of Unicold employees in pursuit of an accredited two-year college, four-year university or vocational degree. Applicants must be a child or grandchild of a Unicold Employee from the Oakland, Honolulu and Los Angeles offices with a minimum of at least one year of service at the time of the application deadline. Applicants must also be enrolled for at least 9 credits per term. Preference will be given to recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year and first-generation college students. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Hawai'i Community Foundation for more information.
