Jane Kent Hedges Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards of $1900 each.

Description

The Jane Kent Hedges Scholarship funding shall be awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior collegian members of the Beta Sigma-Southern Methodist University Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta who will pursue undergraduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to senior collegian and alumnae members of Beta Sigma who will pursue graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first and second criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior collegian members of the Gamma Phi-Texas Tech University Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta who will pursue undergraduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first to third criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to senior collegian and alumnae members of Gamma Phi who will pursue graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. Should no applicants meet the first to fourth criteria, the scholarship funding shall be awarded to collegian and alumnae members of Kappa Alpha Theta who will pursue undergraduate or graduate study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. In the event Beta Sigma or Gamma Phi is disestablished and ceases to exist, unless and until the chapter is reestablished, the scholarship funding shall be awarded according to the first to fifth criteria, in order of preference. A recommendation from a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a recommendation from an academic or professional reference are required.
