Eligibility

Kentucky Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.

Description

Environmental and Public Protection Scholarships are available to college and graduate students. The Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet (EPPC), through the Kentucky Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), sponsors this scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded to students in academic disciplines that are of critical need to the Cabinet. Scholarship recipients will be selected on a competitive basis. A state university advisory board of the WRRI will review all applications and make their recommendations to the EPPC. Selection criteria includes: GPA, written essay, letters of recommendation by faculty advisors, and evidence of leadership. Upon receiving the recommendations of the WRRI, the EPPC will invite selected candidates for a personal interview. After the interviews, the EPPC will extend a scholarship/contract to those students that the Cabinet thinks has the greatest promise as a future employee. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
