Eligibility

Malyon-Smith Scholarship Research Award, with an application deadline in March, offers numerous awards of $1000 each.

Description

The Malyon-Smith Scholarship is named for two founding past-presidents of the division, the late Alan Malyon and the late Adrienne Smith. It is a fund that annually awards students in psychology to advance research on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI). Faculty members are strongly encouraged to inform students of this award so that we can continue to insure the future of LGBT research in psychology. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a department of psychology. Applications from students in allied disciplines, such as social work and sociology, cannot be considered at this time. One letter from the applicant's faculty supervisor addressing the quality and feasibility of the project, and qualifications of the applicant must be submitted. Please visit the award's website for more information.
