FCS's annual Martin Rasnick Memorial Research Scholarship honors the legacy of Martin Rasnick by furthering the education of a graduate or undergraduate student working toward biological resources conservation. Martin was a brilliant biologist, a compassionate leader, and an advocate for doing impactful work with an emphasis on quality. He was passionate about his team, passionate about FCS's environmental conservation and consulting work, passionate about life, and that passion was contagious. FCS knows that passion drives progress, and FCS aims to support Martin's specific passions for creating positive impact and value in natural resources conservation. Applicants must be a student in a recognized environmental/natural resources degree program in biology, urban planning, ecology, or a related field, interested in pursuing a career in environmental consulting; or early career environmental conservation and/or research-focused professional. Applications will be evaluated based upon the applicant's knowledge of relevant issues and their commitment to becoming a leader in conservation, creating positive impact and value. Applicants must submit an original paper or piece of research or abstract demonstrating their aptitude in their field of study. Applicants must also submit one letter of recommendation from a relevant educator, employer, or sponsor, with contact details. This scholarship may be used for tuition and fees, books, room and board, research project materials, associated travel expenses, relevant certification and membership fees, and/or relevant training opportunities.
