Mech SS Sheldon D. Murphy Student and Postdoctoral Endowment Award, with an application deadline in December, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.Description
The Sheldon D. Murphy Memorial Fund was established in memory of Sheldon D. Murphy, an inspiring leader who made substantial contributions in toxicology education, research and public service. Applicants must be a PhD candidate or postdoctoral trainee at the time of the 2025 Annual Meeting. They must also be an SOT member; those with pending status are also eligible. Nominee selections are made by an appointed committee of Mechanisms Specialty Section officers based on the overall scientific quality of the abstract and the relevance to mechanistic toxicology. A cover letter with a short statement that should contain the impact of the research on the field of toxicology; the status as a PhD candidate or postdoctoral trainee; and the date of advancement to PhD candidacy (graduate students only) is required. The submitted abstract for the 2025 SOT Annual Meeting must also be submitted. The student should be the primary author and contributor to the work described.
