Mr. & Mrs. Takashi Moriuchi Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.

Description

The Mr. & Mrs. Takashi Moriuchi Scholarship was established in 1975 by Takashi and Yuriko Moriuchi. Mr. Moriuchi, a successful fruit farmer, is the past New Jersey State Director of the United States Department of Agriculture Farmers Home Administration and Mrs. Moriuchi, a professor of Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), is president of the American Guild of Flower Arrangers. This scholarship will be awarded to entering freshman students. Every applicant must be an active National JACL member. JACL membership is open to everyone of any ethnic background. Applicants must be planning to attend a college, university, trade school, business school, or any other institution of higher learning within the United States. Students deferring enrollment will not qualify for the scholarship program. Entering freshman applicants must be high school seniors. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, school administrator, employer, coach, or community leader.
