The MUVE Recognition Award in Medical, Urban, & Veterinary Entomology recognizes and encourages outstanding research, teaching, outreach/extension and service contributions in the fields of medical, urban, and veterinary entomology. These fields are broadly defined as the study of the biology and control of arthropods that impact human health, found in the home or surrounding landscape, and of significance to livestock and companion animals. Nominees must be a current MUVE member and have contributed significantly to the advancement of entomology through work in medical, urban, or veterinary entomology. A recipient of a widely recognized scientific award will not be eligible for this award unless the accomplishment cited for nomination represents new work. Recipients of this award are not eligible for future nominations. Industry candidates are not eligible for this award. Nominations may be made by anyone. Nominators must provide a CV which includes the following sections: Background Information; Research; Teaching; Extension/Outreach; and Service. A letter of nomination; up to three letters of recommendation; and a summary of any accomplishments not covered under CV-related items must also be submitted.
