Eligibility

The Peck Law Group Elder Abuse and Neglect Scholarship, with an application deadline in June, offers numerous awards of $1400 each.

Description

Elder abuse and neglect is an ever growing problem facing our society today. By informing the public on the signs and symptoms we can help bring a stop to this dreadful act. Videos are a terrific way to display information about elder abuse and neglect as they are interesting, easy to watch and easily shareable. Peck Law Group constantly moves towards the goal of eliminating elder neglect and abuse in California and throughout the United States. Applicants may be anyone who is attending, or has been accepted to a college or trade school. Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in the United States. Submitted elder abuse videos and articles may inform thousands of Americans of the signs and symptoms of abuse and can possibly land students a scholarship if the firm chooses their video. Applicants must create a video detailing their experience with elder abuse and/or neglect, along with an article. It can be the applicant's own experience, or something that has happened to a loved one. The more in-depth the better, be creative. Applicants must also include a link to any referenced statistics or studies within the article. Applicants who wish to participate in the social media challenge can receive an additional $400 with their scholarship. They must simply write a post on social media with a story about nursing home abuse, including the hashtag #nursinghomeabuse and a link to the Check with Peck on Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect page. Applicants must submit their full name, address, and phone number; and name of the college or trade school they are planning to attend or currently attending. If under 18, applicants must provide their legal guardian's contact information. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
