Description

As a tribute to Mr. Port's personal commitment to education and as a means of improving the professionalism of the real estate industry, the Rich Port Scholarship Fund was established to help licensed real estate agents in Illinois complete courses to earn the Graduate, REALTOR Institute (GRI) of Illinois designation. Any person who has been a licensed real estate agent in Illinois for a minimum of one year, working in Illinois, is interested in furthering their career in the real estate industry, and who is a resident of Illinois is eligible to apply for a scholarship. This scholarship cannot be used for reimbursement for previously attended GRI Institutes. To be eligible for the Rich Port Scholarship, applicants must have completed the first 30 hours of GRI by completing one of the following: 30 HRS of Post License course work through the Illinois REALTORS Licensing and Training Center; one of the approved equivalency courses; or the proficiency exam in the last four years. The scholarship will go towards the remaining 30 hours of approved GRI course work. Applications are ongoing, there is no application deadline. A letter of recommendation from at least one real estate broker from the office with which the applicant is affiliated must be submitted. Applicants must also submit letters of recommendations from two officers, one which may be the local Board Executive Officer, from the local Board of which the applicant is a member. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation for more information.
