Description

The SDNF Scholarship will be awarded to support a registered nurse pursuing a master's or doctoral degree. Applicants must have a current South Dakota RN license and must be a member of SDNA for at least one year. Applicants must be a graduate student pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in nursing or a related field in an accredited program with the goal of practicing nursing in a South Dakota high need area or teaching in a South Dakota baccalaureate or higher degree nursing education program. Applicants must have career goals and personal qualities congruent with South Dakota Nurses Foundation purposes and demonstrate evidence of leadership, compassion, involvement in professional organization(s), professional activities, and community service. Students admitted but not yet enrolled must submit a copy of their admission letter and students enrolled must submit their current transcript. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation describing their personal qualities and activities that exemplify their leadership, compassion, involvement in professional organization(s), professional activities, and community service. At least one letter of recommendation should be from a faculty member with whom the applicant has had their most recent nursing program experience.
