Description

The SPPAIS Study Abroad Award provides financial support for students who seek to participate in an international study abroad opportunity as part of their academic program at UW. To be eligible, a study abroad experience must be institutionally recognized by UW. Eligible students include undergraduate and graduate International Studies and Political Science majors and graduate MPA students. Applicants must provide an overview of their proposed international study abroad opportunity. This description should include the name of the organization or academic institution hosting the study abroad, the location and proposed timeline of the study abroad, and an overview of what activities the applicants will be participating in during this study abroad opportunity. If taking coursework, please provide a list of prospective courses and how these will help the applicants progress toward completing their current academic program of study at UW. In addition, please tell us why you would like to participate in this proposed study abroad and how it will help to benefit and advance your current academic program of study and/or future career goals. Applicants must also provide a detailed and itemized budget of the anticipated costs associated with carrying out the proposed study abroad. Applicants will also need to arrange for a letter of recommendation from a UW faculty member familiar with their current academic program and their plans for study abroad. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
