Eligibility

The Jane Harriman Hall Professional Development Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards of $5000 each.

Description

The Jane Harriman Hall Professional Development Scholarship is designed to support teachers in their ability to teach Latin. The scholarship was developed in honor of Jane Harriman Hall, founder of the National Latin Exam, in order to continue her efforts to bring high quality Latin instruction to students throughout the United States. Examples of Professional Development opportunities are course work at a college/university, participation in an oral Latin summer course, and attendance at a classical conference. Applicants must be current teachers of Latin at the pre-K-12 level in a public or private school who spend at least 50 percent of their instructional time with students. Applicants are eligible for the award only once every ten years. Applicants currently receiving another scholarship from the National Latin Exam are not eligible to apply for this award. Applicants currently serving on one of the National Latin Exam Committees are not eligible. Applicants must submit a recommendation form. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
