Eligibility

The Jane Harriman Hall Professional Development Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers numerous awards of $5000 each.

Description

The Jane Harriman Hall Professional Development Scholarship is designed to support teachers in their ability to teach Latin. Examples of Professional Development opportunities are course work at a college or university, participation in an oral Latin summer course, and attendance at a classical conference. Applicants must be current teachers of Latin at the pre-K-12 level in a public or private school who spend at least 50 percent of their instructional time with students. Scholarships will be awarded based on the impact they will have on students and effective use of the funds. Applicants must list two references, their professors or supervisors. Those references must write the applicant a letter of recommendation. Applicants are eligible for the award only once every ten years. If you are currently receiving another scholarship from the National Latin Exam, you are not eligible to apply for this award. If you currently serve on one of the National Latin Exam Committees, you are not eligible. Applications may be sent through mail or email. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the National Latin Exam for more information.
