Description

The Thelma Nennemann Aspegren Memorial Scholarship was established by her husband, Hugo, to honor her life. Thelma graduated from the Hamburg, Iowa, Community High School in 1926. She devoted her life to taking care of her husband and her community. Hugo's love and devotion to his departed wife lives on through the many students who have benefited from this scholarship. Applicants must be a current graduating senior or a former graduate of the high school in the Community School District of Sidney, Fremont County, Iowa. Former graduates must apply within three years of their high school graduation date. First preference will be for a current-year graduate, all things being equal. It is preferred that the applicant be a female student. The applicant must demonstrate strong scholastic application and achievement in high school studies and be pursuing a 2- or 4-year undergraduate degree from a fully accredited college or university. Financial need will be considered. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Lincoln Community Foundation for more information.
