Thomas C. Woods, Jr. Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers 2 awards of $1250 each. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The Thomas C. Woods, Jr. Scholarship was established in 1991 by the family of the late Thomas C. "Chip" Woods, III, and the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company (LT&T, formerly Aliant, then Alltel). The scholarship honors Thomas C. Woods, Jr. and the contributions he made to LT&T and the community as a whole. The Woods family continues to be generous servants to the Lincoln community and are involved in various organizations throughout the city of Lincoln. Applicants must be a current graduating senior of a public or private high school in the following counties in Nebraska: Adams, Butler, Cass, Clay, Fillmore, Gage, Hamilton, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Otoe, Pawnee, Polk, Richardson, Saline, Saunders, Seward, Thayer, Webster and York. Preference will be given to dependents of former Aliant/Alltel employees. Applicants must be pursuing undergraduate studies at any university or college in the United States. This scholarship may be renewable for up to four total years. Previous recipients must complete a renewal application, submit their college transcript(s) and proof of enrollment.
