The Thomas C. Woods, Jr. Scholarship was established in 1991 by the family of the late Thomas C. "Chip' Woods, III, and the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company (LT&T, formerly Aliant, then Alltel). The scholarship honors Thomas C. Woods, Jr. and the contributions he made to LT&T and the community as a whole. Applicants must be a current graduating senior of a public or private high school in eligible counties in Nebraska: Adams, Butler, Cass, Clay, Fillmore, Gage, Hamilton, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Otoe, Pawnee, Polk, Richardson, Saline, Saunders, Seward, Thayer, Webster, and York. Preference will be given to dependents of former Aliant or Alltel employees. Applicants must demonstrate academic success and must be pursuing undergraduate studies at any university or college in the United States. This scholarship may be renewable for up to 4 total years.
