VASWCD Educational Foundation Inc. Scholarship Program, with an application deadline in April, offers 4 awards of $2000 each. Location restrictions exist.Description
The VASWCD Educational Foundation Inc. Scholarship Program aims to promote the education of students in technical fields with natural resource conservation and environmental protection. Applicants must be enrolled in or have applied to a college freshman level curriculum. Applicants shall document a class ranking in the top 20 percent of their graduating class or a 3.0 or greater GPA or appropriate equivalent of individual scholastic achievement. Applicants shall demonstrate active interest in conservation. High school seniors who have applied to college may apply. Only one applicant per district may be submitted. Applications should be made from the county the student resides or attends school. Eligible applicants must reside or attend school within a local Soil and Water Conservation District. Students must confirm the application deadline with their local SWCD Office. However, the district's selected applicant with all supporting documentation must be received at the VASWCD Office by April 18, 2025. Recommendation letters from at least 3 references, other than family members, who can provide additional information about the applicant's academic and community activities must be submitted.
