Eligibility
WRRT Future Leader Scholarships, with an application deadline in March, offers one award in the amount of $1000.Description
The WRRT Future Leader Scholarships shall be awarded to one or more recipients. Applicants must currently possess a valid Michigan Wastewater Operators license and be planning to pursue either a Class B or Class A license. They must be planning to meet the EGLE educational requirements through an EGLE approved SHE provider, and be members of the MWEA at the time the award is presented. Applicants may state the amount of financial award they are hoping to receive and indicate how this amount was arrived at (ie. Course Name, Credit Hours, Tuition Costs, Fees, Book Costs, etc.), or the full scholarship amount may be awarded. Applicants must submit a resume showing full- and part-time employment, education history and extra-curricular activities, for at least the past five years. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation from another MWEA member who currently holds a Class A or Class B license. This other member does not need to be their supervisor or employer. Applicants shall include a written plan for how they intend to meet the educational requirements. The required materials must be submitted with a cover letter itemizing the enclosures. Applicants currently enrolled at a college/university shall receive a check, in their name and the school name, to be used for academic purposes only. Applicants planning to enroll in approved SHE courses shall provide an official receipt from the course after it has been completed as well as a copy of successfully completed final exam, to receive reimbursement. Aside from the online application, applicants may also submit their application through mail to the MWEA office.
