Description

The Yvonne D. Sutton Meyers Endowed Scholarship will give priority to candidates who are from a single-parent household or first-generation college student. Priority will also be given to residents of Zwolle, Louisiana; Sabine Parish or St. Helena Parish, Louisiana. If there are no applicants from these areas, a second priority shall be given to students from the Houston metro area (inclusive of Harris, Ft. Bend, Waller, and Montgomery Counties). Candidates may be either freshmen or upperclassmen. Candidates must have a high school GPA of at least 2.75. If upperclassmen, candidates must have a minimum GPA of at least 2.8. Candidates must also be enrolled at Grambling State University in good standing. Each scholarship recipient shall write and mail a thank you or appreciation note along with a picture to the Custodian (or Custodian's administrator). Each scholarship recipient shall contribute at least 10 hours a semester to support the activities of the Division of Advancement, Research, and Economic Development.
