The Iager Dairy Scholarship is awarded annually to encourage qualified second year dairy students in a two-year agricultural school to pursue careers in the dairy industry. This scholarship is sponsored from a fund donated by Mr. and Mrs. Charles lager, well known Maryland Holstein breeders. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic standing, leadership ability, interest in the dairy industry and plans for the future for those students completing their first academic year. The Dairy Shrine/DMI Milk Marketing & Dairy Products Scholarship is to encourage qualified undergraduate students to pursue careers in milk or dairy product marketing, dairy market enhancement or similar roles in the food industries. Major areas of study include: Dairy Science, Agricultural Economics or Accounting, Dairy Genetics, Dairy Equipment, Dairy Nutrition, Dairy Feed or Pharmaceutical sales, Dairy Consultant, Dairy Extension, Dairy researcher or Professor. The scholarship is available to any undergraduate student currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year in a four-year college with an explicit interest in the dairy industry. Scholarships are based on leadership, activities, academic ability and interest in the dairy industry. Students can receive the scholarship only once. The LEAF Scholarship Program is awarded to students attending an accredited community college or state university and majoring in a horticulture-related program leading to a career in the landscape contracting industry or related fields. Applicants should show sufficient academic progress, work experience and extracurricular activities to demonstrate their intent to become a landscape industry professional. Any student taking a minimum of six units is eligible. Certificate programs are not eligible. Scholarships are available for students who will be continuing at their current college or who will be transferring to another accredited college in the fall of 2025. Three letters of recommendation are required. One of these three letters must be from a current instructor or counselor. The other two can be from a current or recent employer, club/activity advisor, previous instructor or church leader. If reapplying, please supply current letters. The DeNise Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Howard DeNise, longtime agriculturalists and Grange members in western New York. This scholarship may be used in any recognized accredited institution of higher learning. Both 2-year associate degree and 4-year baccalaureate degree programs may be pursued. Public and private institutions may be attended within or outside of New York State. Courses of study must entail a major within the field of agriculture. Strong emphasis in awarding these scholarships is placed on need and that the applicants must be agriculturally oriented. Membership or participation must be in the applicant's resume in at least one of the following: FFA, Skills USA, 4-H, FCCLA, or Grange. Applications may be submitted through mail or email. The College of Agricultural Sciences offers scholarships that support many award areas including academic merit, financial need, specific major, minor, major option, or department enrolled in, participation in teams, clubs, or programs, demonstrated leadership, geographic location, and study abroad, among others. All students in the College are encouraged to apply for scholarships. Students must complete the College of Agricultural Sciences Scholarship application annually to be considered. It is also recommended to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually to maximize their consideration for scholarships. The Arizona Nursery Association Foundation awards scholarships to worthy students each year. ANAFUND provides financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate college and university students who have demonstrated an interest in the horticulture, agriculture, agriculture education, agribusiness, and landscape architecture field who are from Arizona. The amounts of the scholarships vary, depending on available funds and number of applications. ANAFUND also funds continuing education opportunities for current nursery employees. Applicants must be currently or planning to be enrolled in a horticultural related curriculum at a university, community college or continuing education program. They must be currently employed in or have an interest in the nursery industry as a career. Applicants must also have an above average scholastic achievement or at least two years work experience in the industry; and, display involvement in extra-curricular activities related to the industry. Two letters of recommendation are required, they must be from an ornamental horticulture instructor, counselor, employer, club/activity advisory, community or church leader, dated and signed in the current year. The Bucks County Farm Bureau Endowed Scholarship was established on September 29, 2005. The Bucks County Farm Bureau is committed to securing the future of agriculture in Bucks County and throughout the Commonwealth, and to furthering the education of young people in the field of agriculture. This scholarship is open to students majoring in Agriculture. They must be members in good standing of the PA Farm Bureau or a family that holds such a membership. The Burlingame/Gerrity Horticultural Therapy Scholarship honors the work of Alice Wessels Burlingame, who helped develop the field of horticultural therapy as a profession in 1952. Horticultural therapy enriches the lives of children, challenged adults, and seniors. The scholarship was established in 1984 to encourage and advance horticultural therapy. Eligible applicants should be enrolled in a bachelor's or post-baccalaureate degree program in horticultural therapy or a bachelor's degree program in horticulture with an emphasis on, or certificate in, horticultural therapy.
