The Leo and Gabriella Scholarship in Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control has been established through a generous donation by Leo and Gabriella Beranek to the Acoustical Society of America to support graduate study in the fields of architectural acoustics and noise control. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants shall have been accepted to or currently enrolled in any college or university that offers a graduate study in Architectural Acoustics or Noise Control. Membership in ASA is not required. The recipient will be that individual who, through personal qualifications and a proposed research experience, is judged to exhibit the highest potential for performing research benefiting some aspect of the science of sound and promoting its usefulness to society. Three reference letters shall be provided from persons familiar with the student's work. One letter shall be from the student's graduate advisor or major professor. At least one of the other two letters shall be from a full member or Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America. Sertoma's Communicative Disorders Scholarship, funded by the Sertoma Annual Fund, is for graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in audiology or speech-language pathology from institutions in the U.S., accredited by ASHA's Council on Academic Accreditation. Since 1955, National AMBUCS, Inc. has awarded scholarships to students pursuing degrees in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and audiology. Students must be accepted in a graduate-level program that is accredited by the appropriate therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, or audiology. The Monica M. Weaver Memorial Fund is open to Montoursville Area High School graduating seniors. Applicants must attend an accredited four-year college or university, or other educational institutions. Applicants must plan to major in physical therapy. If no viable candidates fit the criteria, then students who plan to major in occupational therapy, nursing or other related health care profession (in that order of preference) may be considered. Applicants must have resided in the Montoursville Area School District for a minimum of three years prior to their graduation. Preference will also be given to a student who has not received other scholarships and demonstrates financial need. The Acoustical Society of America announces the availability of the Raymond H. Stetson Scholarship in Phonetics and Speech Science for graduate study and research in scientific areas related to the field of phonetics and speech production. Applicants shall demonstrate evidence of good academic standing in a graduate degree program during the entire scholarship term. Research areas to be supported, in preferential order, are Motor speech production, Phonetics, and Bio-developmental factors in speech. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation invites doctoral students to compete for the Student Research Grant in Audiology, supported by the Ira M. Ventry and Brad Friedrich Memorial Funds. To be eligible, students must be doctoral (research or clinical) degree students enrolled in, or accepted for, study in audiology or hearing science at an academic program in the United States. Candidates pursuing an entry level clinical doctorate in audiology must be in a program accredited by, or in candidacy status from, the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Proposals must be for research to be initiated in clinical and/or rehabilitative audiology. The New Century Scholars Research Grant is designed to advance knowledge, tools, and techniques in communication sciences and disorders. The investigator must have received a PhD or equivalent research doctorate within the discipline of communication sciences and disorders. Due to the availability of student research grants and scholarship funds through the ASH Foundation, students currently enrolled in a degree program or working on dissertation research are not eligible for this competition. The investigator must demonstrate the potential for and commitment to conducting independent research. Rizing Tide will annually award the Crest scholarship to students who are pursuing a physical therapy degree and who come from an underrepresented racial and/or ethnic background (self-identifying as BIPOC). Applicants must be a student entering their first or second year of a DPT program (with their second year beginning no sooner than June 1, 2023); or be an active first-year student; or be a student entering a PTA-to-DPT bridge program. They must have been accepted into a CAPTE-accredited PT program within the US. Applicants must also be a U.S. citizen or have DACA status. Crest scholarship recipients may renew their scholarship twice. Applicants must submit three essays and two letters of recommendation. Each year, Rizing Tide will award three Surge scholarships to graduating physical therapy students or licensed physical therapists who are entering an ABPTRFE-certified residency program and who come from an underrepresented racial and/or ethnic background. Each recipient will receive a one-time payment which will be paid directly to the residency program provider and may be used to cover any residency expenses. To be eligible, applicants must have graduated from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program; attend an ABPTRFE-accredited PT residency program within the U.S.; be a U.S. citizen or have DACA status; and remain in good standing until the completion of the residency program.
