Description

The ACI Foundation MENA Student Excellence Award will be awarded to graduate students who demonstrate a significant commitment to research and study in the cement and concrete field and who show a strong motivation to contribute to the advancement of the concrete industry as demonstrated by internships, work experience, or extracurricular involvement in concrete related organizations. Applicants must attend a college or university in the Gulf Cooperation Council region, such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Tunisia. The award cycle for this application period is the 2026 Fall semester through the 2027 Spring semester. Those applicants chosen as a finalist for an excellence award must be available to attend an interview with the Scholarship Council on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the spring ACI Concrete Convention. Students must apply and receive a Visa from their country to attend the ACI Concrete Convention. All applicants must be proficient in the English language. If English is not their native language, a written statement must be attached to the application attesting this proficiency or a copy of the TOEFL results. Applicants must submit two endorsements. Endorsements are statements of evaluation of the applicant, in terms of potential for growth, character, leadership capacity and career interest. Endorsements must be in the English language. One endorser must be an ACI member (non-student) and the other should be an employer, if possible, or a professor.
