Description

The AFCEA Mort Marks ROTC Scholarship was established to honor Mort Marks, a dedicated member of the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter who made lasting contributions to its educational mission. The scholarship will be awarded annually to an ROTC student who attends a university in the AFCEA Mid-South Region (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or the northwest Florida panhandle). Applicants must be enrolled in the Navy or Marine Corps option. They must also be majoring in a STEM discipline. Applicants must be of good moral character. They must also demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and the potential to serve as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Armed Forces. Applicants must submit at least one letter of recommendation from a professor at their current institution. Recommenders must submit their letters to AFCEA in PDF format via email. A nomination letter must also be submitted by one of the following: Professor of Military Science, Professor of Naval Science, Professor of Aerospace Studies, or Designated Commanding Officer. The letter must be submitted as a PDF and emailed directly to AFCEA. Applicants may also submit one additional letter of recommendation or a resume as optional materials to support their application.
