AHNA Holistic Nurse of the Year Award, with an application deadline in April, offers numerous awards that vary in amount.

Description

The Holistic Nurse of the Year Award is intended to recognize AHNA members with outstanding innovation and/or a change in the field of Holistic Nursing. It highlights nurses who have been working in holistic nursing for several years and have demonstrated a commitment towards Holistic Nursing's core values. Any registered nurse who is an active member of AHNA is eligible to be nominated for the HNY Award, including all former Leadership Council/ Board of Directors and Past Presidents. Nominees must be AHNA members in good standing and committed active members for a minimum of five years. They must be nominated by an AHNA Member. Documented presence for Holistic Nursing with national activities is required. Nominees must have contributed to sustainable and current innovation and/or change in the field of Holistic Nursing for both healthcare professionals and consumers. Two sources of evidence of the innovation and/or change in the field of Holistic Nursing by the nominee such as published articles and institutionalized program protocols are required. Evidence that the nominee demonstrates a commitment towards actualization of two AHNA Core Values in their professional activities must also be provided. Two recommendation letters that identify and address how the nominees innovation and or change impacts and/or will continue to affect holistic healthcare are required.
