Alexandre Antonio DaCosta Simoes Scholarship, with an application deadline in July, offers numerous awards of $1000 each.

Description

On February 5, 2019, the son of Angela and Adrian Simoes of Fremont, California suddenly passed away. In response to requests from PALCUS members and friends for suggestions for expressions of sympathy, PALCUS has established a scholarship in memory of Alexandre. It is their hope that Alexandre's spirit and promise will continue on in the accomplishments of another young worthy Portuguese American. The Alexandre Antonio DaCosta Simoes Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding undergraduate and graduate college students. High school seniors or entering freshmen are not eligible. Applicants must be PALCUS members. They must also be U.S. citizens or permanent legal U.S. residents. Applicants must have at least 25 percent Portuguese ancestry. Applicants must submit the Instructor's Recommendation Form from a teacher, instructor, or professor. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact PALCUS for more information.
