ASRT Foundation Fellow Scholarship, with an application deadline in January, offers numerous awards of $1400 each. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

The purpose of the Fellow Scholarship Grant is to provide opportunities to learn more about ASRT governance; service to external medical imaging/radiation therapy and health organizations and association Boards; access to postsecondary education; access to additional certification; development of medical imaging or radiation therapy accessories, instruments, or teaching aids; medical imaging or radiation therapy global humanitarian service; medical imaging or radiation therapy advocacy or health policy; affiliate, national or international lecturer or poster presenter; authoring or contributing to scholarly articles or textbooks; and conducting original research. Applicants must be medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals with long-standing ASRT and affiliate society membership who have demonstrated professional involvement on the local or national level. Professional-level applicants are students who have already attained certification from the ARRT or other equivalent certifying organization or have completed an entry-level program and are transitioning directly into further education in obtaining additional certification or academic degree. Applicants must submit their ASRT Professional Activity Profile to verify that they are a current member and have been an ASRT member for a minimum of the past 5 consecutive years. An official letter from the applicant's ASRT-recognized affiliate must also be submitted to verify that the applicant is a current member and has been a member of an ASRT-recognized affiliate for a minimum of the past 5 consecutive years. Applicants must also submit a recommendation letter from their ASRT Fellow sponsor attesting to the applicant's activities in the following areas: progress in completing the application and collecting the necessary documentation; leadership through service to an ASRT-recognized affiliate and ASRT; advocacy activities to support the advancement of the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession through service to an ASRT-recognized affiliate and ASRT; and advancement in personal professional growth and in the achievement of career goals.
