Description

The Blossom Kalama Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund was created by the family of Blossom Kalama Evans with donations from the Big Island Girls Golf Club. Blossom Kalama Evans was a long-time resident of Hilo and a leading woman golfer on the Big Island where she formed the Big Island Hawaiian Girls Golf Club. She was devoted to assisting the people of Hawai'i. The Hawai'i Community Foundation will give preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good standing. Preference will also be given to students of Hawaiian ancestry. Preference will be given to students who will major in Hawaiian language, or other fields related to the history, culture and arts of native Hawaiians.
