C.J. Davidson Scholarship, with an application deadline in February, offers 10 awards of $18000 each. Location restrictions exist. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

Texas FCCLA awards the C.J. Davidson Scholarship to outstanding members in Texas majoring in Family and Consumer Science Education. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States and/or be born in the United States. If the place of birth of the applicant as indicated on the application and/or transcript is other than the United States, appropriate proof of citizenship must be provided. The applicant must be a graduating senior ranked in the upper quarter of their graduating class or have a 3.5 GPA at the completion of the first grading period of their senior year. The applicant must graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following the awarding of the scholarship. Applicants must have passed the EOC exam as indicated on the transcript. The applicant must have taken either the SAT or ACT college entrance examination and provide proof. Proof of the score may be a part of the official transcript or a copy of the official test results should be attached to the application. The information should reflect the date the test was taken. The applicant must be an active member, in good standing, of an affiliated chapter of the Texas FCCLA for at least one year and be eligible to compete for an FCCLA college scholarship to be used beginning with the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Each applicant must submit two letters of personal reference from persons who are well acquainted with them. The scholarship may be awarded for up to eight semesters if the recipient continues to be qualified under the governing rules of the scholarship.
