David M. Dolan Scholarship, with an application deadline in November, offers one award in the amount of $3000.

Description

The David M. Dolan Scholarship supports individuals pursuing a future in applied environmental statistics/modeling pertaining to the Great Lakes. Applicants must be a master's or Ph.D. student whose current research is in the spirit of Dr. Dolan's work, using quantitative and applied tools focused on Great Lakes ecosystems. In addition to their name, contact information, IAGLR member status, affiliation, and education, applicants must be prepared to submit the following: brief title and extended abstract of proposed research; statement of relevance of the research to the application of applied environmental statistics/modeling in studying the Great lakes; current curriculum vitae; transcripts; and name, affiliation, and email of person providing the letter of endorsement. The letter of endorsement must be from a supervising professor, and must be sent directly to IAGLR with the student's and award name in the subject line. The letter should indicate the following: name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the major professor; statement of student's stage of progress and anticipated time to completion of degree; and endorsement of student's academic ability, aptitude, and eligibility. Applications will be evaluated based on academic excellence, scientific merit, presentation, originality, and relevance of current research to the scholarship's goals.
