Description

The Denton International Business Scholarship was a gift from Leona Denton, wife of Earl A. Denton. The award provides a grant to a student pursuing a graduate degree in the field of International Affairs with an emphasis in World Trade, Economics, Business or Political Science. Brother Denton owned and operated a Chicago-based international trade firm. It was his desire that recipients of this award will have an impact in the area of world trade. Applicants must be a member in good standing of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation: one letter of recommendation must be from a dean, professor or professional colleague and the other letter should be from a Sigma Chi alumnus the applicant has known for at least a year. Letters of recommendation from family members, significant others and friends are not acceptable. The applications are reviewed and graded based on the applicant's academic performance, chapter, campus and community involvement, demonstration of leadership, and financial need. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Sigma Chi Foundation for more information.
