Doherty-Package Pavement Company Scholarship, with an application deadline in March, offers numerous awards of $3000 each. Restricted to those with financial need.

Description

Education has always been a high priority with the Doherty Family. Third generation Dohertys now lead in keeping with the family's educational priorities; they and the Boards of Directors are pleased to offer the Doherty-Package Pavement Company Scholarship to the children of company employees. Students continuing their education beyond high school whose parents or guardians have been employed by one of the companies for at least three years are eligible to apply. The scholarship is not renewable, but winners may apply for up to three subsequent years. Applicants may be high school seniors, undergraduate students or graduate students. They must have attended or attend any high school in the Hudson Valley. The applicant's parent or guardian must be an employee of the Package Pavement Company Inc. Red Wing Properties Inc., Scarsdale Acres, Inc, or Stormville Trucking Inc. companies for at least three years. Applicants must submit two current letters of recommendation from teachers or guidance counselors, clergy or persons other than family members who are familiar with the applicant's skills and abilities.
