Eligibility

ECP Research Award, with an application deadline in June, offers numerous awards of $1000 each.

Description

The ECP Research Award recognizes a student transition or early professional who has made outstanding research contributions to the field of entomology. The nominee must be a current ESA Student Transition or Early Professional (ECP) member. Eligible members can apply the year following their terminal degree (B.S., M.S. or PhD.) or within five years of degree completion. For the 2024 awards season only, individuals within 6 years of degree completion are eligible for the award. Starting in 2025, eligibility criteria will return to within 5 years of degree completion. Student members who have recently graduated in the year of nomination are considered a student member through the end of the calendar year and therefore do not qualify for this award. The nominee may belong to any area of entomology, but must be practicing entomology. Nominations can be made by anyone. Self-nominations are allowed. Nominators must provide a CV which includes the Background Information Section, Research Section, and Service. A research statement written by the nominee and two letters of nomination or recommendation that evaluate and appraise the nominee's accomplishments, placing special emphasis on the work to be recognized by the award must be submitted. Please visit the award's website or contact the Entomological Society of America for more information.
