The scholarship is intended to assist in-state public school pre-K-12 teachers, school administrators, and educational assistants who plan to continue their post-graduate education. Preference is given to candidates who are completing a state-approved program leading to teacher licensing, school administrator certification, or Hawaii DOE ParaPro minimum qualifications. Applicants must either have a Baccalaureate degree or enrolled in an Associate in Arts in Teaching or Certification of Competence teaching program. A letter of reference from a person who is familiar with the applicant's professional work and goals is required.
