Eligibility

IADR Orthodontics Research Group Travel Award, with an application deadline in October, offers 3 awards of $500 each.

Description

The Orthodontics Research Group (ORG) considers new researchers to be critical to the future of ORG, both as contributors to the science and to our leadership. To defray some of the travel expenses to the IADR General Session & Exhibition, ORG will offer three travel awards: 2 travel awards for new researchers, and one travel award for a faculty member living in a low-to-upper-middle income country. Applicants must be members of IADR and Orthodontics Research Group; and be first author or presenter on an abstract submitted to ORG for the IADR General Session & Exhibition. Participants in this award are not eligible to apply for any other ORG awards. For new investigators: undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students, or investigators within 5 years after earning their highest degree (by the award deadline). For faculty members: live in a low-to-upper-middle income country, as defined by the country's Gross National Income (GNI) according to the World Bank Classification (by the award deadline). All abstracts submitted for the IADR General Session & Exhibition are subject to peer review within the scientific groups of the IADR. Applicants to the ORG Travel Award will be reviewed by a committee of ORG officers who will select the winners. Selection is based on originality, scientific rigor, and potential impact on global oral health. Please visit the award's website for more information.
