IADR PRG SUNSTAR Foundation Award, with an application deadline in December, offers numerous awards of $10000 each.

Description

The IADR PRG SUNSTAR Foundation Award aims to support research within the field of dental/oral artificial intelligence. The award will be conferred on an annual basis for a 5-year duration and in a competitive way, based on an application for a research project on artificial intelligence in the field of periodontology. Applicants must be a current member of IADR-PRG. They must be a PhD or Masters' student (in the final year of the program at the time of award) or post-doctoral scientist (within 24-months of successful completion of a PhD at the time of the submission deadline) in an academic institution. They may also be at an academic rank below associate professor or equivalent. Applicants must submit a research protocol that must include the following: an abstract; a brief but concise background to the proposed research project, clearly stating the significance of problem, and the innovation of the proposed studies; clear aims and objectives; concise description of the methods, including sample size/power estimates, and statistics; and estimated budget allocation. Applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation from their Department Head or Dean including a statement that the applicant will be allocated designated time for execution of the proposed study. They must also submit a letter of agreement from any proposed collaborator/s, clearly stating that the equipment and resources needed for the specific project will be provided.
