Description

IAGLR's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility+ (IDEA+) Research Scholarship is awarded annually to support research that adds to the diversity of perspectives regarding large lake science, management, education, communication, policy and community. Applicants must be a master's or Ph.D. student whose proposed research topic is relevant to large lake research. Preference will be given to individuals from historically marginalized communities. In addition to their name, contact information, IAGLR member status, affiliation, and education, applicants must be prepared to submit the following: brief title and extended abstract of proposed research; statement of relevance describing how this research adds to the diversity of perspectives regarding large lake science, management, education, communication, policy, and community; current curriculum vitae; transcripts; and name, affiliation, and email of the person providing the letter of endorsement. The letter of endorsement must be from a supervising professor, and must be sent directly to IAGLR with the student's and award name in the subject line. The letter should indicate the following: name, address, e-mail, and telephone number of the major professor; statement of student's stage of progress and anticipated time to completion of degree; and endorsement of student's academic ability, aptitude, and eligibility. Applications will be evaluated based on academic excellence, scientific merit, presentation, originality, and relevance of current research to the scholarship's goals.
