The John D'Emilio LGBTQ History Dissertation Award is given annually by the Organization of American Historians to the best PhD dissertation in U.S. LGBTQ history. The award is named for John D'Emilio, a pioneer in LGBTQ history. Dissertations submitted for consideration must be completed during the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 to be eligible for the 2026 D'Emilio Award. Applicants must submit a PDF of their complete dissertation, abstract, and table of contents in one email to the Award Committee.
